heavy fuel usage

hi there i have a 1994 850 t5 an it is using alot of fuel as in i use about 20 lt per 100 km not going hard an my emision light thing has come on the one with the little triangle an was hping someone could point me in the right direction i have cheacked codes and got 232 once and have only managed to get 231 since so now i am on the hunt to fix it as fuel is now going nuts and wqould be nice if i could fix it so any help would be greatly apreciated

Start with the easy stuff. Those codes are usually caused by a vacuum leak. Check all of your vacuum lines for cracks or breaks.

A dirty MAF can also post those codes. Get a can of MAF cleaner and spray the MAF sensor and let it dry. Don't scrub it or even touch it, just spray and let it dry.
