A/C compressor, 1996 850 turbo

Post by wrencher »

Problem: My air con blows real cold for as long as I want it to until I turn it off, by either turning the car off or switching it off at the dash switch. When I try to turn a/c on again it will not kick the compressor on again unless I wait a while, the fan blows fine all the time.
It seems like an electrical issue, like a relay thats getting hot and not wanting to reactivate again until it cools a bit.
Where do I start looking/testing to discover the source of my problem?
Is there a compressor relay I can check?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I suspect a compressor shim issue. Read about it and its simple fix in our repair database.
