83 760 w/ b28f v6 engine

it starts and idles but will not rev. 2800 RPM seems to be as high an rpm as i can get. New fuel pump, filter etc. What could it be? 96,000 miles

clogged cat? or does it die when you try to go over 2800 if so check throttle position sensor.

I don't believe they have a throttle pos switch 96000miles

It is too old for a TPS.

Which system is fitted, Continuous Injection System or LH-Jetronic?

Which fuel pump did you replace and what is included in the 'etc'?

Other things to check on the CIS are:
Throttle valves not opening properly.
Control pressure.
Mixture adjustment.

However, I am really curious about the pump.
