Volvo 850 running on LPG, is it normal for the engine ?

I am using LPG (propan-butan) as fuel for my car, is it bad ?

I have heard of others converting to propane or LP Gas...but not usually from the U.S. Where are you?

I've owned 2 cars converted to LPG. Aside from a loss of power , the only other downside was valve guide and seat wear. Valve jobs did not last as long as normal.Neither car was a Volvo, so maybe it will last longer.

My son has been running a 1992 Talbot Express motorhome for 5 years on LPG. He has had no problems with it as far as valves and seat wear are concerned.

Many local authorities in the UK are changing to LPG powered vehicles for economy and total lack of emissions and they are doing high mileages without any trouble.

The only thing most people forget is that the LPG system should be serviced every 10 - 12,000 miles. This is in addition to normal services.

I am from Europe, Moldova, in ou country the 95 octane fuel is at 1 dollar an 50 cent for a liter, and it's more economic to run on LPG.
