Vacuum Lines

Quick question here. 1997 850 T5. On the accordian tube after the MAF there is a vac line (blue) that goes to the TCV on the underside of the accordian hose. There is another nipple on the side of the hose pointing towards the master cylinder that has nothing on it at all. Thinking that this was a dummy nipple I put a hos eon to it and had no problem blowing air through it. Is this nipple normally plugged or is there an actual hose that goes to it? With this being open would definately explain my turbo loss issues.

Pretty sure that hose connects to the vacuum tree or near it. Check for a loose or broken hose in that vicinity. Don't really think that would cause your turbo issues, but I suppose it could to a small extent. I would think a broken or disconnected hose AFTER the turbo would be more of a cause.

Not sure if it goes to the tree or not but the vac diagram really does not show it either.......Would be nice if someone opened their hood and looked for me and posted their findings.

Anyone else have any ideas? This things is making me crazy trying to figure out if anything goes to this nipple

The 99 C70 has the same setup. Only one vacuum hose to the PTC. From the acordian there are two take offs. One goes to the Purge Valve. And maybe the other to the turbo. The car is not here to check it.

I have a 1997 model 850 T5 and checked under the bonnet. Although she is European spec, my second nipple is definitely blanked off. I would suggest that you blank yours and see if there is a difference. Good luck!
