2000 V70 XC parts free to good home

Post by steelbuddha »

I have a couple of items that fit a B5244T engine. The specific application was a 2000 V70 XC, but the parts probably fit some other cars.

My charming story: I had me a woman who owned the car in question. Her car began dying by degrees, and the engine pretty much blew up, for want of a more technical term. It looked like a water pump failure that caused the timing belt to jump, so my plan was to yank the head, have it fixed, and put it all back together.

When the guys at the machine shop got to look at the head, they said that not only was the head wasted, there was no way the bottom end couldn't be messed up, too. So I bought a salvage engine and had local guys I know do the swap. Right about the time I got the car back from them, the woman decided she had had enough of me. But that's a subject for the country music message board.

Anyway, I have a top-end gasket set to fit that engine (Fel-Pro HS 26203 PT-2) minus the valve stem seals. I gave those to the machine shop along with the old head, and they lost the seals. I also have the five ignition coils from the old engine. As to their condition, all I can say is, they were working when I took them off. The car had 96K miles on it when the engine failed.

I wouldn't feel right about selling used electrical parts or an incomplete gasket set. Bottom line, if you want this stuff, you can have it. I'm in Durham, North Carolina, so if you're nearby you can pick it up. Otherwise, I only ask that you pay the cost of shipping.

First come, first served. I think you can email me through this board, but if not, we'll figure it out.

Sorry to hear about your car and woman. Believe it or not my wife just had the exact same thing happen, water completely drained while driving and then the engine melted down beyond repair.

Be warned anyone out there with a 2000 V70XC, inspect those hoses and water pump before it blows!

Can you tell me how your engine replacement went(cost and performance) and where you got the motor? I've been getting higher prices for that engine type and I was surprised. I guess it's the light turbo and the 2.4L displacement?
