Keyless remote programming for S70 99

Post by shaimaa2000 » Fri Aug 29, 2008 4:48 pm

Hi all,
I read so many in this very benefical forum for programming my remote for my Volvo S70 Model 99. I bought the remote from ebay and it is mentioned in ebay listing that is remote would work in my Volvo. I tried the 5 times in II position and nothing happened.
Also, I tried to make a copy of my key in locksmith and they said it is encrypted! and must be done in dealer? is that right? how much is the cost for that if so?

Any ideas for that?

Thank you in Advance

The keyfob needs to be programmed at the dealer (or an independent shop with VIDA access or an AutoLogic unit)--software must be downloaded to the car to unlock the VGLA module to program keyfobs.

The key is a similar story--one can be ordered cut to keycode for about $60, with programming costing $35 for software plus labor. My local Volvo dealer charges $175 inclusive of the key, software and labor; your price is almost sure to vary.

What does VIDA access mean? I have VIDA on my computer and a dice dongle, but I don’t have any subscription to any of Volvo’s servers. Can I still program A remote?

You cannot use "your" VIDA for program remote.
Need to buy subscription VIDA Online.
