3 row seat problem - head rest won't fold down.

Post by K B »

Dear helpers,

I'm trying to help one of my relative. He requested me if I can get answer from the forum.

Problem :

He has a XC90; 7 seater; 2003 model. One of third row seat's head rest won't fold when bottom seat cushion completely goes inside and back rest fold down. I check the seat and figured that the back rest fold upto the point where the head rest stuck to the second row of the seat.

It's my understanding that the dealer metioned to him that he has to replace the cable. If that is the case, can you please tell me how to replace the cable, which seems to be inside the back rest. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

There is a little plastic tab that breaks and is all that requires to be replaced.
If you lift the rear cover off (trunk) and pull on the handle on the working side, you will see from the back the plastic tab I am referring to.
I know some people have attached a wire/string as a temp solution
