Someone mentioned the firewall mount yesterday

Post by MadeInJapan »

Part of the torque mount above the engine- attaches to the firewall. I cannot find the post so I can't go back to it and post this information. If someone is interested, there is a stiffer polymount that attaches to the firewall: http://www.ipdusa.com/Volvo-S70V70-1998 ... -373-2165/
I wouldn't personally use it as my upper torque mount is already poly as is the lower engine to transmission mount (the one that looks like a belt buckle)...and I get enough vibrations at idle- I don't need any more.

Thanks for the info on the installation...I may need to check mine again- seems more vibrations than usual...it is awfully cold these days though, which I think contribute to hardened rubber. If mine has broken, I'll go with OEM rubber. Btw, where did you buy your firewall mount?

good day mij...

d ont recall if i bought it from fcp groton or e europarts.....i ordered from both places parts at the same time...e euro offers though the higher end hutchinson mounts...i bought the aftermarket ones...to be honest i dont know as u say the cold gets the rubber like concrete...or if the hutchinson mounts are really a better choice..by the way the top mount was a piece of cake...to change...the other mount needed a bit of muscle...

thanks
