V70 1998 Corner headlight detached

Post by Lfrance »

Front left corner headlight was bumped and fell out, with light bulb cord attached, but other cord detached. I can't figure out how to reattach it. I think a plastic part broke off, also. Any help in how to repair it?

Welcome to MVS... check the other side...they slide out of the clasp that holds them in. If the clasp is broken then you're in for replacing that.

Corner lights are fairly cheap. Here's a youtube how-to that shows how to get one out and back in. If your old one is completely detached, fast forward to the last step in this video.

thanks. I'm pretty sure a part broke off and I'll need to replace the corner headlight, because the bulb part does not attach to corner piece and another cord just hangs loose. Thanks for the help!

I just use a big tie wrap cord around the corner light and the frame next to the headlight, keeps it nice and tight in place and saves you ordering a new part.

I'm not sure what type of cord that is. It would be nice to not have to replace the lamp.
