1998 s90 have you had this problem

Hi again everyone. I have read alot on this site and seldom see anything reffering to the S90. Is there something i should know about this car. I know mine cuts out at the stop light sometimes but runs and idles great the rest of the time, I guess im not to concerened about it cause i just keep starting it when it happens and havent taken it to a dealer as yet. I must admit after reading about problems that we as volvo owners have with them maybe we need the check up. I love my S90 though. Yes, thank you doctor i can make that 2:00 o'clock!

seldom see anything reffering to the S90

The S/V90s were only in production in 1997/98 and were the 960 rebadged so what is written about the 960 refers to your car.

Your intermittent, minor idle problem could be caused by:
Throttle switch/connector.
Dirty Mass Air Flow sensor.
Fouled spark plugs.
Plug leads beginning to break down.
Poor connections in the ignition/coil circuits.

If there is no Check Engine Light, and you can live with it for the time being, let it run until you can find a good independent shop who will look after your car for a lot less money than the dealer.

Thanks Bill for the list of suspects, I'll look for an independent and keep an eye on the rest. Also thanks for the fact that the s90 was the 960. ac
