1997 850 N/A - What are the two vacuum ports on airbox?

Post by dville_gt »

There are two places for a vacuum line on my airbox, I only have one hooked up, one is plastic and one is metal I believe. I dont think it has anything to do with the cold/hot air selector flap, but I need to know what these do and which should be hooked up to vacuum?

Thanks!

nope, just did a complete pcv overhaul, i know all about the flame trap, i am talking about on the airbox its self, there are two ports, i have one vacuum line that runs over there. dont know why there would be a vacuum line right after the airfilter, and i also dont know which of the two ports should be connected and if the other should be plugged.

thanks!

Most 850s dont have that line (my 95 n/a does not). Only 97 and later (some 96's).
