Wing profile crossbars

I just bought a pair of used wing profile cross bars for the XC90. but the tool was not included. I have seen mixed opinions on that forums as to if the tool is needed or you just need a torx and a flat head.

Can someone steer me in the right direction. I am using them for a trip in a couple of weeks and if I need the tool I will have to order it soon.
