They sell these 'performance chips' all over the internet such as the GT Tuner box which is the most famous. First off there like $20, so obviously something funny is up. Plus they make unrealistic claims on performance.
I had a friend who was dumb enough to buy one. I heard of the scam, so I convinved him to 'void' the warrenty, and open it. Yep, it's a $1 resistor with 2 wires in a pretty little box.
I guess it tricks your engine into thinking there is more cold air then there really is, so it will burn more fuel. They are dangerous to your engine too from what I have heard. The reason why GT Tuner box gets so many good reviews on ebay is because they offer $20 back to the best review every week. THey sent a little paper with that when my friend bought it.
Stay away from it, dont waste your money. If you know someone who has it, and acts like it's a real performance chip. Just laugh at them
