drive shaft clicking
drive shaft clicking
i am hearing a loud clicking sound from under my xc90. it sounds similar to a bad cv joint but happens during straight driving as well. i am assuming it is the main drive shaft. the cv boots are fine on both sides. i found a drive shaft used for 350. is this a good price. do i have to replace the whole drive shaft? can i do this repair myself? i am desperate and have little money.

I would check to make sure it's not something else before changing a driveshaft. Look at your tires to make sure you don't have a nail in the tread, check the brakes, etc.
$350 seems high for a used driveshaft. You can get a NEW one here for about $350: http://www.tascafordparts.com/
You can do it yourself if you have average mechanical skills.
