2003 V70 ABS indicator and Anti Skid

Post by pgbuick »

Got a 2003 V70 with 115k miles. Car is new to me. Now getting some codes as follows, PLUS the ABS warning is on, PLUS the AntiSkid control is disabled according to the message center. Have two recurring codes:
P0502 - Vehicle speed sensor A Circuit Low Input

P0507 - Idle control system RPM too high.

Any ideas greatly appreciated. Where can I find Code list?
Thank you
Patrick

Don't know of the idle high signal but it could be a break in one of your vacuum hoses or a MAF sensor starting to go bad... I believe on your model (and my '04 V70), the speed sensor is in the wheel- also where the ABS wheel sensor is- One of them may just need a good cleaning- and if I'm right, it would be the front passenger side that picks up that signal- thus the ABS is off as well. Good luck and I hope you figure this one out.

This has started to happen only after driving in the rain. I wonder if a connector is getting wet or moisture is otherwise causing an issue?

This is very possible...get it checked, cleaned and re-connected.

Connectors and wires all look fine and right front sensor not dirty. This is happening every time the car is driven. Sometimes the antiskid activates and cuts power - sometimes when you need to accelerate like when pulling into traffic. The ABS and antiskid lights come on, but then everything self clears and there is no check engine light since I read the codes and cleared them. Is there an ABS controller on this vintage P2 that is known to cause problems?
Thanks
