My Headlights and brake lights keep going out every 120 days

Post by Wobbley »

My Headlights and brake lights keep going out every 120 days. My wife and I both have 2001 v70 t5's and our bulbs keep going out. Is this normal? Does anybody else have to keep replacing them. None of my previous cars (none of them Volvos) had this problem. Also, I can't figure out how to replace the driver's side brake light. I'm not mechanically inept, I just don't seem to have small enough hands. Any help would be much appreciated.

This is not a problem I have encountered with any of my Volvos.

Regarding replacing the brake light bulbs, are you removing the speaker or trying to work round it? I ask this as it is something I have heard other owners were trying to do not knowing the speaker does come out easily.

Bill - I tried to take out the speaker but I could not get it out and my hands are too big to get in there to get the bulb. Aren't the Swedes pretty large people? I'm just going to take it to a shop. I feel like such a loser to have to take my care to the shop to change a bulb. Luckily my dad isn't around to see this.

Jerry - Yes, stop complaining about 12 to 18 months. My wife gives me grief every time her lights go out...about every other month. Like she really needs yet another reason to give me grief. We have the same make, model, year and color. I know...I know... But we're married. That's ok, isn't it?

My wife's S60 looses taillights like there's no tomorrow

Of course Volvo saw fit to equip the S60 with a small christmas tree for rear lighting (how many bulbs are there?) I keep telling her "the cars 7-8 years old, ALL the bulbs are 7-8 years old too" but I know I changed some of them more than once now
