Goodnight.. and fare well...

Post by Mike-Halewai »

Thank you to everyone who has helped me out in the last year since I purchased my 94 855T wagon.

At this point, after many repairs and many more frustrations, my wife has purchased a brand new car :) .

This means that there will be very little issues over the next few years (hopefully!).. so thank you MIJ and Ozark, etc...

I have sold the car to a couple who are really excited to own a great vehicle! After much work, time and sweat and tears, it will be gone tomorrow night.

I've posted a few pics of how the car looks now...

Take care all...

Mike.

Thank you for your good wishes but don't abandon the site altogether as you can still join in as a former owner. I hope that all does go well with the new car and that you have passed on the site's address to the new owner.

My inlaws freaked out when I talked of my Autobahn story where I was running my rented Opel Cadet at 210. That is only something like 130 MPH and I thought the car was going to explode at any moment since it was at sustained redline. It was rented and they have an emergency phone box every 1/4 mile or so on the Autobahn so why would I care if it did blow up?

I did blow up a rental Renault Le-Shit doing a personal rally run in the mountains south of Anchorage - it was kinda fun while it lasted and since it was the end of June I was able to roll back into town in neutral with no power and found a real fun Summer Solstice party at about 3:00 AM (in broad daylight) to wait for the tow truck.

1) Lee, that's hilarious!

2) Mike, sorry it didn't work out. Sometimes you catch the bear, sometimes the bear catches you.

3) Let us know how you're getting along with the new car... post whenever you like about it in the General Chat forum.

4) Is that a block-heater plugin? You don't need one in Vancouver... did the car come from somewhere East of BC?

2 - Nah, it sorta worked-out it got us around, all over the west coast clear to California and out to the west coast of Vancouver Island

3- The new car is (shhh... don't tell, a VW Rabbit - it's pretty amazing) ok, but not a Volvo.

4 - Block heater.. I don't get it either - the car was bought here and lived here in the Greater Vancouver area its whole life, so it has dangled its whole life away unused.

I have told many a fine folk that this is by-far the best and most helpful forum I have ever utilized. I did however see a fine 08 S40 in the neibhors yard this morning - I'm pretty sure it winked at me.. lol.

Take care all. Mike.
