Lift Gate Reveal Moulding Installation

Hi Guys,

Before I ruin a $40 moulding piece, does anyone have advice on how to easily install the lower reveal moulding on the lift gate glass of a 2000 v70? I've done the soap application as a lube, cleaned the underside and have tried to gently slide and also push it on. Hangs up and wants to bend.

Something about having trashed good parts in the past using brute force, I thought I'd ask first.
