I noticed recently that the heater fan is making a rumbling sound. I spoke to someone at Volvo and told me that the motor needs to be changed. Problem is that the whole dash needs to be removed and that would be very costly. Someone also told me that there are 5 screws holding the fan housing and 4 screws can be accessed from under the dash and the last screw can't. He basically told me to carefully break the 5 screw tab and I would be ale to replace the fan and save about $1000.00 of labor.
Has anyone attempted this? Or if there is any truth to this?
Thanks again,
