My 2005 Turbo awd V50 with 65k on the od... died on me last week during a rain storm. The Check engine light came on and low engine power reading came on the computer. Basically the car would barely idle, and when i attempted to accelerate it would not. The vehicle was towed to my mechanic, and he diagnosed it as a broken wire in the wiring harness. After several attempts to find the break, a new one was installed, to the tune of $1270.00 plus labor. He kept getting eratic voltage readiangs when he moved the harness around. The new harness seems to have fixed the problem, my question is has anyone heard of wiring harness issues with this model.2005 V50 wiring harness

We had a car that was acting very strange and could not be traced to any faulty part. After doing alot of searching we found the engine harness was at fault. Only once did we ever see that problem, but props to your technician for finding the problem, that is not an easy diagnosis. So yeah I have seen that happen once, but not a common issue.
