What's your gas milage?

Post by KEWROCK »

I don't know if this has been done before, but I'd like to start a thread on just gas mileage. Nothing too elaborate. Year, Model, some brief specs/mods and maybe location and driving habits. I'll bet it varies wildly

1999
V70R AWD Auto 115000 miles
Completely Stock
Queens, NYC
Hard driver, nothing illegal or dangerous, just rough
My dash computer averages between 18 and 20 miles per gallon resetting it once a month with a city/hwy mix

Around town I get around 12-13 ltr/100k (22-23.5 MPG).
On a fast highway run 8.5 ltr/100k (33.5 MPG) or if I'm a little more frugal I have had it down to 7 ltr/100k (40 MPG).

That's in a 1995 850 GLT Auto Estate. All stock but I have replaced all the filters, oil, tranny fluid, leads & dizzy recently and have Pirelli's all around.

Drive it reasonably quick, but nothing too stupid (stupid stuff happens in the R32 Skyline  and you dont want to know the fuel ecconomy of that!)

Cheers

98 S70 N/A FWD (188K) 22.3MPG (960 throttle plate/air box thermostat flap removed)

00 V70 N/A FWD (112K) 23ish+ MPG No Mods (ETM replaced under extended warranty)

I run premium gas in both. My daughter drives the V70 and is much more light footed than me. Neither has done any significant highway miles in the last couple of years (the wife's 00 Honda Odyssey 171K gets used for that).

Are you saying you get 1000 kms to a tank??? With mixed city and highway driving and gas conservative driving habits I average 650kms per tank of gas regular(cheapest) gas.

Completely Stock *sept for air filter*
Orlando FL
Run her at high speeds (100-120) when i can *highway/turnpike* NEVER ON I4 for anyone who knows what that is.
Im in the 20's in the city, and in the 30's on the highway.
Seen a 2-3 mpg gain since airbox mod. *but I need a thicker dowel so I'm hopping it will raise a bit more once i swap out the wood pieces tonight*
The car dash is at 26.4 for average *reset after airbox mod *almost 1k miles ago*.
