Hi guys how are you? Fabs here from montreal. Just had a question for you studded tire folks. This is my first winter with studded tires. I bought some nokian hakka 5, so far they've been doing well in snow, had to have an alignment as well. But i've noticed that when driving on dry payment (on highway) there is a bit of a vibration in the steering wheel and a little droning noise in the cabin..is this a normal characteristic of studded tires? the tires have been balanced, on steel rims and an alignment has been done.
thanks and happy new year!

If you don't get a noise from them you have cause to worry!
We tried them on some patrol vehicles many years ago. We don't normally have the amount of snow you get so a lot of the running was on wet/dry roads, not snow. There was noticeable noise.
The noise on my car slowly decreased until it was non-existent, but so were the studs. I don't think they were designed for continuous high speed driving.
Bill.
