My center cup holder is stuck in the closed position. I haven't figured out how to get the center console out (I'm stuck on the shifter knob).. Can you advise how to remove the center console (if necessary) to repair the cup holder? Thank you. Ed

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
You don't need to remove the shift knob.
The attached shows how to get at the cup holder. On page 3 you will see how to remove the surround from the gear shift. The tools that are shown are weatherstrip tools but you can make them from a strip of hard plastic or, if you are careful, you can use screwdrivers.
Bill.

I'd like to thank you very much for your help.. The instructions and pdf were perfect. My wife is so pleased and I'm happy that I didn't have to spend an hour or two at the dealer, as well as saving money. I'm sure it would not have been free. Plus I know how to resolve this again. I sure that the pdf was downloaded 12 times, so this happens often.. Thanks again. - Ed
