940 rebuild

Hello all, first post here, not my first visit.

I am currently rebuilding/restoring my 940 that was negelcted and needs some TLC. I have been driving this car for 5 years, it currently has 281,560km on it and runs great! Just got my cold air intake from e bay today!
I have restored the vinyl and stained the upholstrey from grey to charcoal.Will be painting black in the spring.
I want to bring it up to a more modern look with out parting with it for a newer brick.
question I have, is is possible to mount an 850 bumper cover on the 940?
I noticed that they look like they have completely different mountings, true?

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

My late friend, who owned a body shop, always said anything can be made to fit onto anything, if you have the time and know how.

The mountings are totally different and the overall width of the 850 is 1cm greater than the 940. This could be accounted for by the dimensions of the bumper but is more likely to be the width of the actual body.

Those are good words to live by, granted that, 1 greater is better than 1 less. I could easily body fill/fiberglass/plastic metal the difference!

I just got my led fog lights and relay in from ebay. I have never done any electrical work on a car except installing a few head units and need help/advice on installing the fog lights. I would like them to run with my driving lights, no switch. pics would be great.

Got my Nova rims with rubber on, cold air intake installed behind grille. I will be debadging and meshing the grille when it warms up here.
Cars not taking to warm to the new filter, after a hard acceleration it appears to sound like its knocking when coming down, buddy said the computer needs to adjust and config the new unit and probably keeps resetting. !?!

Check with your road traffic regulations as in many countries fog lights can only be used legally when visibility is restricted by fog or, in some countries, spray. Therefore, a switch is required.

Where am I am, it can be considered a safety improvement, unless coloured lense are on, as long as they are not brighter than D.R.Lights
