I have a '99 S80 that is giving me the usual errors associated with a bad ABS module. I had sent it to Victor but he returned it because my car has DSTC which is apparently a more complicated module. A new one costs $1050 and, frankly, the car isn't worth a whole lot more than that. I did find a company called Auto and Truck Electronics who claim they can fix this particular ABS unit for $400. That's still a lot of money so I was wondering if any of you are familiar with them? I did a search but didn't find any mention of them.
Thanks,
Dan
Auto and Truck Electronics for ABS
That outfit did the ABS rebuild for my 2000 S80. It had only STC, no DTSC. They did a great job with quick turnaround. IIRC, they provided a lifetime warranty and charged ~75.00. I would recommend them, but that price sure seems high.
You may want to check into this outfit on E-Bay that lists S80 ABS rebuilds: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Volvo-85 ... ccessories They apparently charge $63.00 and give a lifetime warranty. The listing shows all the ABS part numbers thay can rebuild and has a phone number to call for questions. They also offer a rebuilt exchange service for $99.00. If they can do your module, sounds like it would be worth a try. Good luck!
