2002 C70 "Accessory Power Relay"

Post by fllvn »

I have completely disassembled, cleaned, check functioning and reassembled my ignition switch because of an issue I have with latent start up of accessories (such as windows, wipers, radio, dash lights, fan, AC (no problem w/ engine, headlights, taillights, top, seat heaters)) on my car. This was based on a forum entry on this site. Everything checked out with the ignition switch. It is not malfunctioning. Came across Airtex part #1R1901 (www.airtexproducts.com or www.rockauto.com, "Accessory Power Relay" for my yr, make and model. Have had trouble finding anything on this anywhere. Does anyone know anything about this, what it does, and where it is located on the car? Thx

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

Looking at Rock Auto's listing I saw that the relay was for other models of Volvo as well as the C70. I can't find anything listed in Volvo parts books for that particular relay and would suspect that it is simply a relay you would use if you were to add driving lamps or fog lamps to your car.
