S60 2001 electrics gone funny

Post by adam180 »

Hello everyone
My Volvo doors and now boot are acting strange.
When I press the button to lock the car all 4 doors lock, but then the front passenger door opens again? (but not all the time).
Now the boot lock has stopped working, it just stays open but with the dampers on the boot it stays shut thankfully (although if I need anything I just lift it open, without pressing anything).
The boot dont make the zup noise, when I press the button on the boot no more.
I have looked at all the fuses, and they look ok.
Do I need to reset things somehow.
Cheers
Adam

The passenger door is definately a failed door catch..I would have to say the same for the boot..Does the boot open with the remote? If it does it's not the motor in the boot latch...The connector may be loose back there if the button on the boot won't open the boot.

Hello Atefitty
Thanks for your help.

Whats got to be done to a failed door catch, to fix it (passenger door).

The boot must be something completey different, it has no electric going to it, it seems.
The latch is in the open position all the time, so when you donk it down although it is kept closed with the dampers it is still open really.
The button on the remote is doing nothing, normaly you would hear it electrically open the latch, (like you would/do on any of the other doors), and there is no button on the boot to press, its a electrical switch, (that has always made the same electrical noise, and now its making no noise).
I hope you get a chance to get back to me, its nice to have the help, but I have found that people seem to lose you, after helping with one lot of advice, (ie very often I ask a second question or explain more on the same question and it never gets answered).
thanks anyway for your help
Adam
