S70 Engine number

Post by 0230683 »

I need to buy a timing belt kit for my S70 turbo 5254T. I cannot read the complete engine number from the ink sticker on the timing belt cover. Surely this number appears elswhere. Where can I look?

I have 2000 S70 N/A. The number in the location indicated in the picture above reads 9186836 which is obviously much higher than the 1266128. However, it is so far above that it makes me wonder if it's proper. Are the numbers not incremental and some sort of date code?

The tag inside the drivers door indicates that the mfg date is 10/99.

Thanks for any insight.

You can also look on top of the timing belt cover. If you're looking for a timing belt/tensioner for your 2000 though I can go ahead and tell you, it is 100% the mechanical tensioner.
