Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

1999 S80 2.9L headlight assembly replacement

Post by keith »

My 1999 S80 Volvo took a rock through the front passenger side headlight assembly. I have the new glass but have no expericence working on Volvos. The local auto parts stores do not have any automotive technical manuals available. Where could I find a illistrated parts breakdown or drawing to see what I am dealing with. Or is the local mechanic a better option?

I was going to get the glass, but the whole thing was only $180 delivered. It was a first class @#$^$*&#$^ to get the new one in and the old one out, i nearly removed the front bumper but ran out of patients.
Before putting the glass-ware in, order a set of those clear plastic headlight lens protectors. My old ones got stained from "overspray" so I removed them w/intent to replace them ASAP. 2-days was too late. so I didn't install till i got the protectors. I think it was autoanything.com or something like that. the set cost around $59 and were pretty easy to install, and they are completely invisible unless you get close and look for them.
good luck

This is the URL for Alldata. I use it for my S80. It is a subscription based service, around $20 / year. Good Luck!
