1998 V70 T5 120K no start

Post by Woody99 »

I bought this wagon as a project car. To begin with there are no stored codes because the battery was dead. The engine is in time and has good spark at the distributor so I think the cam and crank sensors are OK. The CTS readings are within specs. The fuel pump runs and there is fuel to the rail. I do notice that when the engine is cranking that the tachometer needle does not move. I suspect that the injectors are not activating. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome to MVS,

When you put the key in position II do you hear the idle air control valve buzzing? If not check the master fuel system relay. It provides power to the IAC valve and the injectors.

I think its one of a relays (try to move it or replug) right above the cooler fan, behind the Volvo mask  (am I right?)
I also had no start issiue after driving thru a snow mess.. and injection relay replug was the solution 8)
