alternative for the 96 850 turbo drain tube blues

alternative for the 96 850 turbo drain tube blues

Hello great volvo advisers...i have an oil leak ( not as bad as BP 's oil leak ! ) for which i am seeking an alternative way
to drain it ...say like custom fittings and flexible hose.... any takers ! ?

Its been done but the short logic is this - It's a return line. No matter where you put it before you return it to the pan you will still have to return the oil to the pan. Also - any increased inline backpressure you create causes less oil to flow through the turbo .

Its best just to return it to the pan as designed. I know its a little pain to service it but if everything is cleaned , sealed properly and lubricated (o ring) when intalling you will easily get 100K miles out of the seal.

You could redesign the tube so it was easier to take out. Just don't limit flow
