After what seems like an eternity dealing the constant illumination of my ABS and TRACS lights, I finally broke down last weekend and pulled the DTCs (Socket A3) from my '95 850 GLT. They were many. And they are listed below (in order of appearance):
4-4-4 : No power to hydraulic unit valves
3-1-4 : Right/rear wheel sensor open or shorted
2-1-1 : No left/front wheel signal on moving off
2-1-3 : No left/rear wheel signal on moving off
2-1-4 : No right/rear wheel signal on moving off
4-2-4 : Pressure switch for TRACS faulty or shorted
1-4-1 : Pedal signal faulty - shorted to ground
1-4-2 : Stop lamp switch faulty
Based on my research of the ABS system for '95 models, the wheel sensor codes make sense since the actual ABS control modules don't seem as prone to failure as their successors beginning in '96. I remember discovering this when I was looking at the DIY ABS module repair raved about by so many on this forum, only to learn that the ABS module for my '95 is--in the words of Ozark Lee--"an entirely different animal." My question is whether any of the other DTCs besides those for the wheel sensors might be attributed to a faulty ABS control module, or if the situation could be remedied by simply replacing the sensors on all four wheels. Is this a pretty easy job--plug and play?
Also, I am slightly puzzled by the last two DTCs (1-4-1 and 1-4-2). All of my brake lights appear to be working fine when I apply the brake pedal--am I mistaking the items affected by these codes for something else?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts/experiences!

Aaron,
The earlier models modules can fail but it is rare. My suggestion is to clear all of the codes and see which codes, if any, come back. The biggest problems on the early model abs systems is the crap getting collected in the wheel sensor reluctance rings.
Clear the codes, take for several mile drive and then post the survivor codes and we can help you to focus on the real problem areas.
