1995 850 Turbo Wagon Engine Code

Post by borisdadog »

First time poster here.

I'm trying to get a catalytic converter for my wagon, and the first I bought has a welded flange. Ooops, I need a spinning flange. In order to not make the same mistake, I am pulling the engine code from the VIN.

My question: What engine type does a VIN engine code of 57 equate to? From another forum, I got B5234T EXC (T). I wanted to ask this learned group for their input before I spend the money.

Thanks!

Welcome!

Your car will have a B5234T5 engine, that's correct.

Where are you ordering the converter from? The converter should be the same between all 850 models, regardless of the engine type.

your engine code should be located on a sticker on the timing cover. The code will be below the lower bar code, but as jablackburn stated the flange at the rear of the cat should be the same regardless of which engine you have.

my 95 turbo originally had a B5234FT with vin code 57 before it blew up
