Bulb out light

Post by VolvoFreak »

Just picked up a '93 850glt and the bulb out light is ativated. However, it turns off after a minute or two. If an interior or dash panel light is out, will this activate the bulb out light or is that just for headlights/tail lights/etc??

Doesn't activate for dash lights. Only for headlight and taillight bulbs. It sounds like, since it goes away after a couple minutes, you could have a bad lighting relay, but do a little investigating first to make sure it's not something more simple. It is located under the fusebox cover. You'll have to remove 4 torx screws to access it.

I am not sure but I think the bulb sensor is affected also by bulbs that are silver and not cad or cad but not silver I cannot remember but it makes a huge difference in many Mercedes and Volvos. One will trip the sensor thinking that it is a bad bulb. I hate to be racial but sensors are sensitive to color/metal finish
