The motor works and it's only oppened a crack but it seems the sunroof is off it's track and won't move.
Any feed back on how i should go about the repair ?

When you tried to open it was it to slide it back or tilt it to the vent position?
The tracks on the sunroof often become clogged with debris and always suffer from a lack of lubrication. Retaining screws have been known to work loose or snap off completely.
To open or close the sunroof manually remove the two screws that hold the sunroof motor cover to the headlining. You should then see the motor screw. It has a white clutch pin in the centre. Press the pin with a screwdriver and turn the screw to open or close the sunroof.
With the sunroof in the vent position you can remove the sunroof liner and check all the bolts on the mechanism and rail. To remove the liner:
Use a screw driver or needle nose pliers to release the springs that hold the sunroof liner to the roof. They are at the back of the sunroof, one on the left and one on the right.
The sunroof liner can then be slid back out of the way under the roof and above the headlining. Be careful not to push it too far back.
With the liner out of the way you can check all the bolts and screws and clear out any rubbish that may have gathered there.

Work was good - retirement is better.

I have a 2004 XC90 sunroof low on the PS rear and high on the DS front.
This is an old post, is there any news as to if it's really that easy?
It's 110.degrees here in the shade so my outside time is limited.

I messed with it a little more tonight.
Looks like it is in place better than it was.
Next wash I'll see it leaks.
It's looking for a new owner.
A little back story.
Picked this up at a delinquent storage locker sale for $213.
No keys were present and sold on a bill of sale.
The key was in the console.
I put a fuel pump in it and sender. Drained the old gas and it seems to be decent but for sitting.
Has a 2014 battery that came back up to 12.12 volts but probably isn't long for this world.
Tires are 2018 and get a shimmy between 30-35mph.
That's as fast as possible I've had it.
It's cool and all but Way too many bells and whistles for me... I'm old school where I can still wrench on stuff.
