94 850 T5 Auto Reversing light switch

Hi all, I have an 850 T5 on a 1994 (english year M) auto box, and the reversing lights only flash on when you jiggle the selector up and down between park and reverse, but they will not stay on. Any thoughts? The switch will be working as they wouldn't even flash on if it was broken.

Is there any adjustment?
How much of a job is it to put right?

Chances are the PNP switch is failing but you might be able to adjust it.

I would try to adjust the PNP switch before I would go buying a new one. It may just be out of alignment.
