Fuel consumption/Accelerating? 00' S70 SE

Post by Loi »

Hi I've been researching a lot about acceleration for the best fuel consumption and have not come to a conclusion on what would be best for my car. I have a 2000 Volvo S70 SE. I was wondering what works best for you guys (at what Rpms, etc), thanks.

Non turbo, 5 speed automatic. Sorry, I forgot to mention that.

As with any car, easy does it is the best. Pretend you have a raw egg between your foot and the accellerator pedal. Then, don't let the RPMs go above 3000, and you should get somewhere between 15mpg-20mpg intown. ( I'm assuming you have a turbo, if not, then then no more than 3500 rpm, and probably will get slightly better than 20mpg in town.)
