C70 axle assembly question/I need help

I have a 2001 C70 coupe with the bigger turbo. It's front wheel drive. I needed a new axle assembly for the passenger side (front) of the car. My mechanic had purchased one, and the wrong one (he thought) was sent. I ordered one as well, and the exact same one came. Here is where the problem is...the one (stock) on the car is shorter than the one(s) we had ordered. There is an extra inch or so of slotted grooves (I have the spot marked in red on the picture) on the ones we had ordered. The stock axle from my car doesn't have this. It just has the part after it. Has anyone had to replace one of these? I need serious help. I don't know where else to turn, considering all of the places say that's the right part. See attached

Where did you order from? Did you measure the exact (full) length of both axle shafts? If they are different, you might try calling Marty at Raxles.com
