Have you tried re-soldering the overdrive relay? It's located behind the ash tray, and should be marked "G"

It saved my 740 turbo from consuming excess fuel and it may get you afew more dollars when it comes to sale time. Most people would not take your comment about them being so cheap at Groton unless they have a mechanic check the problem out first, which costs dollars$$$.

Not doubting you just looking at it from an uninformed first time Volvo buyers' perpective and from your perpective for a quick, easy sale. Good luck & Happy Christmas.
