Hi all turned ignition on. temperature gauge went straight to red .Replaced temp sensor under thermostat but exactly same happens as before anybody got any ideas cheers

If you start engine and the cooling fan comes on immediately on high speed then there is something wrong with wiring between sensor and ECM. IF the cooling fan is operating normally and the gauge going full gauge is the only symptom then it would seem the DIM is going wonky on you.

hi all been to volvo dealer just had to have the computer reset so that the new part would take effect. simples

Jimmy57, what is the best approach to checking that purple wire to the radiator fan or the temp sending unit? I have a new radiator and it ran on high as soon as I turned the car on. Now it doesn't run at all. Engine temp is normal but the transmission starts getting flares and hard down shifts to first gear because it's getting hot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
