ABS fault code 444 problem

Hi there,

I can't erase fault code 444 on my ABS ..............I press the button on the ECU and hold it for more than 5 seconds. Nothing happens! The red light is not flashing at all. That means everything is OK, but then when I drive the car, the ABS light on the dash is ON!

Can anybody help with advise ?

How are you getting 4-4-4 on the ABS check? ABS codes are only 2 digits. The attached shows how to read and erase ABS codes.

Men, you've registrered in bulgarian forum... why didn't you surch there?!? Or even here - the first treat is: "How to use the On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) unit." In bulgarian forum the picture is the same - on top there is a treat abut the fault codes, puted all together on one place and a explanation of the way to read the codes in Bulgarian. There are members in Burgas who would be happy to give you a hand, another decision... your wish.

Can you tell me where the "Bridge" terminal connection is that "billofdurham" is talking about in the attached PDF - "440 ABS code""?

I have a 444 error code on my 1995 Volvo 850 "Canadian car"..... Any help on this 444 would greatly, and thank you in advance.

Don't confuse your 850 with the Volvo 440 model that is being discussed in this thread. You can read the ABS codes through the socket A3 on your OBD. To read the ABS codes on the 440 it is necessary to bridge sockets 1 and 2 and the codes have only 2 digits. Do not bridge the sockets on the 850 as you may cause damage to the OBD system.

As stated in my reply to maora he can't have a 4-4-4 ABS code on a 440.

Thanks.... I figured it was something like that.

Now I wish I knew how to fix this issue.

It maybe time to take it to Volvo and let them figure it out.
