Leaking Transmission Line Leak
I did a search and couldnt find much on this. My upper transmission cooler line is leaking at the crimped end...where the rubber meets the actual metal line. Where can I get a new hose? I searched the usual suspects but couldnt find anything.

That's not common, usually the lower line is the leaker!
I suppose you would buy one at a Volvo dealer, that would be the "usual suspect", don't you think?

Yup upper. Its leaking at the crimped end toward the transmission, not the radiator end. I can literally see it dripping when idling. I checked tascaparts.com but I cant figure out what they call the part. I dont like dealing with my local dealer.
Anyone know the part #s for both upper and lower? I guess I could have a hose shop rebuild my lines...Ive done this with other cars/tractors.

I believe the p/n is 9180542 (up), 3507931 (low).

I've been monitoring my automatic transmission outlet hose for a few months now. It is slowly leaking, coating the metal part of the hose in leaked transmission fluid. I've found that Tasca still seems to have the lowest price ($80), with eeuro ($97), IPD ($102) and FCP ($105) coming in higher.
Could someone who has done this replacement offer me up some guidance or advice? I was wondering what kind of fastener(s) need to be removed at the transmission, if there any any gotchas or other tips / tricks to observe. How hard is it to route the new hose in place?

I would call a NAPA or Car Quest. You can probably have them rebuilt for a lot less than that. To remove you just undo them at the transmission, they are flare type fittings IIRC. No o-rings on the transmission side, just pressure fit.

I think there are O-rings at both ends (rad + trans sides). See photo.
Use only Volvo O-rings, a few dollars at dealer.
Now the hose itself:
1. You can buy Volvo hoses (#29 #30) but they are about $90 each.
2. I have seen people do this in other forums such as Honda:
- Remove the old leaky hose.
- Cut the rubber hose off but keep the metal connectors.
- Find a suitable hose (a few dollars at autoparts store), cut to length.
- Re-attach using standard clamps.
Remember the ATF pressure is very low, about 5-10 psi max, so a standard hose + standard clamps will be fine.

Thanks guys. I'm grateful for your pointers, advice and offers. I'm planning to do this repair for my wife's car, a '97 855 GLT with ~160k miles. I'm going to go with the OEM style solution. I'll use the Volvo o-rings. I don't know if a new hose comes with the o-rings or not. I'll check with Don Snyder and/or Tasca to be sure.
I'm thinking that in the course of doing the line replacement, I will be draining most or all of the transmission fluid out, measuring it, and then refilling with an equal volume of fresh ATF when I'm done.
