2002 V70XC - battery light/low voltage

I was driving home and the battery light came on along with a message that said something like E.L.System Service Needed. I turned off the heat and radio, and eventually the light and warning went away. Then a couple of minutes later I got a yellow exclamation point in the center of the instrument panel and a message that said Battery Voltage Low. I also notice a lot of clicking noises coming from the dash. Any thoughts on what this might be? Thanks!

Bad alternator

What do you think the clicking noise in the dash is? It sounds like a switch repeatedly being turned on and off with no particular pattern.

Probably an AC vent flapper motor
One of the diverters is stuck or broken
