timing belt

hello everyone,
I am thinking about changing my timing belt. I was wondering how do i tell if the tensioner, or idler pulley is bad. Can i just get away with just changing the belt?

Replace it all. belt idlers tensioner and pump. It only takes one of the components to fail to cause you to have to pull the head and do the intake valves. They will bend when the belt slips

Yes just what JDS60R said replace all !!! I just did mine all the advertisers at the top of this page sell timing belt kits.
And as long as your there do the water pump, it's only about 20 min. or so of extra time but if you had to replace the water pump only you have to remove the timing belt. So 2 birds 1 stone take your time do it right and have piece of mined ?

Go the whole route, I've seen what a ripped timing belt will do, a guy gave me his 1999v70 after his went....it was to much for him to deal with...so it's worth the bit of extra time and money...for the piece of mind for sure!
