Oil pressure

The oil light (low oil pressure?) will come on at idle (between 750-1000 rpm) on my 91 945 SE turbo, after the car is at operating temp. Do I think oil pump or something else. I am using 20w50 oil and change it religiously at 3000 miles or 3 months. The car has about 500,000 miles on it.

I love this car.

I bet the seals on the pump have gone. This is a know issue with the red blocks. you will need to drop the pan to get to the pump to replace the seals.

Over the years I have found that 20w50 builds up sludge in the oil pan. Would only use that weight in deep south or where it is hot and only when it is hot. If pulling the pan just replace the pump with that much miles it is worn enough to replace.
