Does anybody know how to adjust the position of the sunroof in the closed position? My sunroof leaks in heavy rain, and I noticed that, when closed, the glass roof is not flush with the cars roof. It seems to be a little lower, and when I tap the sunroof switch a few times, I can get the roof to close flush. Is there a "closed position" adjustment so I do not have to do this by hand?
Also, do you think it is good to change the seal at this time? I have a 1996 850 R with 150k miles.

I posted my question question quite a while ago, and finally fixed it about two years ago.
Here's how I did it: (I am going by memory, no photos)

- It's is very simple, adjust only 4 screws... from the inside of the car...
- Locate and remove the plastic rail covers Decorative) on both sides
- This reveals the screws, two on each side
- Loosen the screws and position the sunroof where you would like it to be (there is only some, yet enough, leeway)
- Tighten the screws
- Replace the plastic rail covers

Late to the party, but I thought I read somewhere that there is a reset for setting the home position for the sunroof. May only be for later cars. I'll now have to try to find that.

I notice that my sunroof sits a bit higher above the roof compared to other Volvos I've seen. The sunroof motor is cooked and it doesn't leak as far as I know, so I kinda don't want to mess with it. But it doesn't look quite right the way it is now. Will keep this info in mind.

Glass in closed position the front of glass is below roof and at rear of glass above body is normal. My moonroof in the last several cars came from the factory this way and the answer from Volvo is it is positioned this way to prevent wind noise. June

On mine the back is at the roof line, but the front is above. So the exact opposite of how it should be I guess.
