Finished my B5254T swap after a few cranks it fired right up. Only code I get is p0013 Bank2. It starts and holds idle but knocks pretty bad. I will check the vvt solonoid tomorrow, my backup checks out at 11 ohms which I think is ok....I will double check if timing belt is off by a tooth as well.
I have the magnetti ETM, It sounds like when the key is on the on position that a high pitched electrical sound from that area, can anyone confirm this as normal operation or shed some light on what this sound might be???
Thanks
Engine is in and running but....
Checked the ohms on vvt solonoid it was maxed out (open?) so I will take it as a bad one pick up new gasket and check again tomorrow. On another note I noticed the ETM in my v70 is a white tag unit and I have an extra yellow tagged unit I am thinking about swapping out for the xemodex upgrade on the white one. I still hear a loud high pitch sound coming from that area with ke in the on position engine not running.

After VVT and ETM swap she fired up and ran much better. RPM's hold right at 900 Idle. After about 15 minutes it seemed the ECM made some adjustments and runs very smooth now. I dont know if there is a customary break in period when engine and electricals are changed as I did. It is amazing how I feel confident I could do this again, maybe a C70 in the future. There is a p1800es down the road I have to go look at, its been sittin for 20 years, surface rust and non running B20 may be in my future.
