Hi,
I am considering installing hitch on my 2003 Volvo S80 T6 to pull 17 foot Bayliner boat over short flat country distances to and from lake. I realize the S80 has rated towing capacity of 3300 pounds/tongue weight of 350 and boat has dry weight of 1900 pounds plus trailer (with no brakes) of approx 500.
I am concious of extra demand on transmission, and effect of additional weight for stopping but I see this as a less expensive option then buying a truck. Has anyone towed a boat with Volvo? What are your thoughts on this?
