Oxygen Sensor issue - 06 XC90 V8

2006 XC90 V8 AWD with 96,000 miles

Hi,
I've recently encountered a check engine light resulting from code P0131 which from what I have found is Bank 1 Sensor 1 low voltage. I called FCP to get the sensor since it was not listed on their site (They didn't seem to carry any sensors for the V8 model) and they told me they could order it and that Bank 1 sensor 1 was the front sensor on the firewall side before the catalytic converter (From what i can see there are 4 O2 sensors all together). When I received the sensor I tried to replace it but eventually gave up because of its awkward placement and I took it to a local trustworthy import mechanic and told him exactly which one I was trying to replace and gave him the sensor. When I picked it up he told me he cleared the check engine light and gave me the old sensor which was removed. As expected when I got in the car the check engine light was not on but about mile down the road it came back on. So I checked it and it was the same P0131 code. I cleared it again and it stayed off for awhile but eventually came back on.

My question is that is it possible that I was given false information by FCP and Bank 1 sensor 1 is actually the front sensor on the radiator side and not the firewall side? Information about the oxygen sensors on the V8 model seems difficult to find.

This is all I can find about oxygen sensors for the V8 XC90. You may have been given the wrong information.

Thanks! So if that document is correct then it seems I have replaced the wrong sensor
Looks like I'll end up just replacing both front sensors. Hopefully I wont get any more errors from them for awhile.
